The cottage, built in 1990, is located in Kuusamo near the Oulanka National Park and Ruka fell (14 km). It is on the shore of Lake Säkkilänjärvi by the road to Juuma village. The cottage can be reached by car and there is parking space available right next to it.

The main building has two bedrooms upstairs: one with a double bed and bed and the other with a double bed and two single beds. In addition, there is a sofa downstairs in the living room. There is also a kitchen, an electric sauna, and a bathroom (with shower and WC) downstairs.

In the yard there is a storage building that has a traditional sauna with a wood-burning stove. Water must be carried to the sauna from the lake. There is also a campfire site, a food smoker box, a pier, and a rowboat by the lakeshore. The water at the beach is shallow (child-friendly) and the bottom of the lake is sandy.

Fishing possibilities on Lake Säkkilänjärvi and the nearby Kitkajoki river are outstanding! Get your license from the 'Sale' store in Käylä village.
