Welcome to Laavu- cabins in Pyhätunturi!

Laavu 13 is 110 square metres and can host a maximum of 12 people. All essentials are included.

Laavu 13 in a nutshell:

- Sleeps a total of max. 12 people, perfect for families and groups of people. We recommend max. 8 people (4 adults, 4 children), since there's only one toilet.

- Downstairs: Two bedrooms with double beds, WC, kitchen and sauna department

- Upstairs: Two smaller bedrooms with double beds and a lounge area with three double beds (we recommend lounge just for kids)

- Kitchen with all necessary cooking equipment and utensils (dishwasher, microwave, oven, coffee maker etc.)

- Living room with TV/DVD

- Great WiFi

- Sauna for ~4-5 people at the same time

- Washing machine in the bathroom

- Terrace for enjoyment after sauna or having a morning coffee

- Log-heated outside bath for 6 people (extra cost of 150 euros / week, less for shorter stays).

- Electric heating for cars

Teimme lyhyen piipahduksen perheen kanssa Laavu-mökkiin katsomaan Pyhän ruskaa. Viestittely omistajan kanssa toimi loistavasti, mökki oli hyvässä kunnossa ja erityisesti arvostimme mahdollisuutta vuokrata koko porukalle paljun illaksi. Kaikki tarvittava löytyy astioita myöten. Vahva suositukseni, tänne mahtuisi isompikin porukka hyvin.

In January 2020 we stayed at the cabin next door, Laavu 15, which is pretty similar to Laavu 13. It is a perfect place to stay for the holiday!! It is a very cosy log cabin just outside Pyha, located at the end of a dead end street and very private. So if you wish to use the hot tub outside for a skinny dip without being seen, you can!
At walking distance there are several ‘best spots’ to see Aurora. As soon as we got a warning through the Aurora Alert app, we jumped in our car and drove to the spot 'just behind' our cabin. Maybe there is a walking path, but because of the 1 meter snow, we could not see that and took the car. It is a two minute drive and a good place to see Aurora! You can see all around you without trees standing in the way. And because it is dark around you, you see Aurora much more clearly as when you are in the middle of a town/village.

Laavu 15 is a very cosy log cabin with a fire place, a private sauna, washing machine, oven, perfect working wifi, good beds (which are a bit small for two people), dish washer, nice shower, private hot tub, The description from the owner is honest and fits reality. We had to e-mail him twice during our stay and he made sure that our 'problems'/wishes were met. There is a large box on the porch which was filled with wood for the fire place and the hot tub (to heat the hot tub takes a lot of wood though).

There are 4 bedrooms with each a double bed (allthough they are a bit small for two people). Two rooms downstairs and two upstairs. Upstairs is also a large space with two more double beds. So in total you can sleep here with 12 people. We stayed here with three persons and enjoyed the space.

In the neighbourhood (at Pyha and at Luosto) are a lot of activities: ice climbing, snowscooter safari's, snowshoe wallks, husky and reindeer safari's, fatbiking, ice fishing, etc. Luosto is a 20 minute drive through a nice landscape. There are multiple nice walking trails in the neighbourhood and in the National Park, which is also close. Pyha is just 1,5 drive from the airport of Rovaniemi. On the way you can make a stop at Santa Village to meet Santa Claus and to stand on the polar circle.

Overall I think both the location and the cabin are perfect for a holiday in Lappish Finland. I can highly recommend it!!

Matkamme onnistui hienosti! Mökki on erinomaisella paikalla ja kaikki tarvittava löytyy esim. wifi, keittövarusteet jne. Myös käytännön järjestelyt onnistuivat hyvin ja omistaja vastaili nopeasti kysymyyksimme. Kiitos!

Mökki vastasi odotuksia, mutta alakerrassa vain yksi oikea makuuhuone, toinen makuuhuone läpikulkutilana pesuhuoneeseen. Yläkerrassa neljä parisänkyä, joista kaksi erillisissä ’makuukopeissa’
Muuten hyvin toimiva kokonaisuus, 8 henkilöä mahtui majoittumaan ok:sti. Palju oli oikein mukava lisä ja puita vähintäänkin riittävästi!

Perus hyvä mökki, sijainti oli todella mukavasti hieman syrjässä muiden katseilta mutta samalla läheltä löytyi tarvittavat palvelut. Paljusta iso plussa ja rauhallisuudesta.

Mielestämme jo parhaat päivänsä nähnyt mökki jonka hinta/laatusuhteessa ei kehumista.
Makutilaa riittää isommallekkin porukalle ja ajaa kyllä asiansa majoittamiseen.
Miinusta saa kuivauskaapin puute, alakerran sänkyjen kunto, wc:n viemärin haju, likaiset ikkunat ja olemattomat vaatekaapit.
Sijainti hyvä varsinkin hiihtäjille, eikä rinteeseenkään liikaa matkaa👍
Plussaa myös kahdesta jääkaapista👍

Kävin perheeni kanssa joululomalla laskettelureissulla. Majoituimme Laavussa ja kaikki toimi erinomaisesti. Mitään ei puuttunut. Omasta mielestäni tämä oli erittäin hyvä erityisesti lapsiperheelle, jossa on kouluikäisiä lapsia. Palju on iso plussa. Siinä olisi viihtynyt vaikka koko yön tähtitaivasta katsellen.

Tosi pettynyt mökkiin. WC.ssä aivan kamala haju joka levisi muuallekin Ei avattavia ikkunoita ,oven kautta tuuletus. Yksi palovaroitin yläkerrassa , alakerrassa ei yhtään. Ensi töikseen piti...

Tosi pettynyt mökkiin. WC.ssä aivan kamala haju joka levisi muuallekin Ei avattavia ikkunoita ,oven kautta tuuletus. Yksi palovaroitin yläkerrassa , alakerrassa ei yhtään.
Ensi töikseen piti siivota maakuhuoneen sänky hiiren papanoista ,joita riitti kyllä pitkin mökkiä. Ei voitu nukkua makuuhuoneessa , outo haju ja lämmityspatteri toimi jos toimi.
Ulkoroskis oli niin täynnä ettei kansi mahtunut kiinni. Naapurin roskikseen joka oli myös aika täysi mahtui meidän roskapussit
. Wifi oli hyvä ja keittiövarusteet.

Hei, ja suuret pahoitteluni huonosta kokemuksesta. En osaa sanoa makuuhuoneen hajusta - siivoja käynyt paikalla ja siellä ei ole ollut ongelmia. Lämmityspatterin ongelma on korjattu ja palovaroitin lisätty. Roskiksien kanssa osuitte huonoon saumaan, ne tyhjennetään kerran kahdessa viikossa sesongin ulkopuolella ja kerran viikossa sesongilla.
