The lovely lakeside holiday house consists of three main structures, which are:

• Main living space with a kitchen, a spacious living room shared with the main sleeping space with a double bed, a second sleeping space with a narrow sofa bed behind a curtain and a sleeping alcove with additional bedding opportunity for two people, and a modern indoor toilet/bathroom.

• Adjacent sleeping lodge with two single beds

• Adjacent bathing space with a sauna, second kitchen, and a living space for relaxation by the private shores of lake Kuvansi.

Kastehelmi has a fully equipped kitchen, where our guests can host a family dinner with a choice of using an electric oven or a traditional Finnish wood heated ‘’Rane’’ outdoor oven or grill. The 4-person dining table can be extended to fit 8 people, but you can consider moving your gathering outdoors onto the large terrace to enjoy the beautifully lush and peaceful Finnish nature.

Or would you rather sit back and enjoy a quiet night indoors by the warmth of a fireplace in the heart of Kastehelmi living room while making remarks on the views through the large water facing windows?

Kastehelmi provides utmost comfort for the two people sleeping in the main space with the double bed, however, additional bedding is also available in the sleeping spaces behind the curtain, upstairs in the alcove and in the peace of the separate sleeping lodge, which all can sleep two people each.

Take a stroll in the garden joining to the private beach while watching your kids play in the playhouse. Why don’t you challenge your family in the traditional game of darts outdoors? Or maybe wind down reading your favourite book in the unique garden shed while watching the sun go down and sipping a cup of tea? In these traditional open sheds, you can really seize the moment and forget the rest.

As per Finnish tradition, a traditional wood heated lakeside sauna functions as the main bathing space. Us Finns love a good sauna accompanied by a beer and a barbeque. Kastehelmi sauna has a mini kitchen and a spacious living space to serve this purpose. Interestingly, we, your host family, prefer Kastehelmi sauna and often take the trip to enjoy a quiet sunset bathing session at Kastehelmi when it’s unoccupied.

Both the main building and the sauna are lake facing with large façade surrounding terraces for enjoyment of long and warm summer evenings. The private beach has a safe sandy bottom and it is also shallow making it suitable for kids and adults alike to make the most of their lakeside holiday get away.
